“Whenever and however you give birth, your experience will impact your emotions, your mind, your body, and your spirit for the rest of your life.”
Hi, I’m Katasha
I’m a Certified Birth Doula, and I help parents navigate the threshold of birth and early parenthood. I began supporting birthing families in 2016 while I was completing my degree in Global Health. I am passionate about this work, because I know the ways we are supported throughout pregnancy, birth, and postpartum have lasting ripple effects in our lives, our children’s lives, and beyond.

Frequently asked questions
-
A doula is a trained professional who provides continuous support during pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period. Unlike doctors, nurses, or midwives, I don’t provide medical care. My role is to walk alongside you—offering emotional reassurance, physical comfort, evidence-based information, and advocacy—so you feel confident and supported every step of the way.
-
Most families find that having a doula makes the journey into birth and early parenthood less overwhelming and more supported. Whether you’re hoping for an unmedicated birth, planning to use pain medication, scheduling a cesarean, or simply want steadier postpartum care, a doula can help you feel informed, calm, and cared for.
If you value having someone in your corner who can answer questions, remind you of your options, ease the intensity of labor, and help your family settle into life with a new baby, then you’ll likely benefit from doula support.
-
Absolutely. My role as a doula is to support you in having the birth that feels right for you, whatever that looks like. Support doesn’t disappear with medical interventions. It simply may look a little different. We will talk in advance about what to expect, and prepare for both your birth and recovery. I will provide continuous support throughout your labor, regardless of medical interventions.

I am in the process of becoming an approved Medicaid provider. At this time, I am able to provide a detailed receipt that you can submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement. Many families have success using their HSA/FSA benefits or receiving partial reimbursement for doula services. Because every plan is different, I encourage you to check with your insurance provider about what they cover.
